Common Thread says Good-bye
Dear Lawrenceville-
Over the past 2.5 years, Common Thread has loved being part of the neighborhood of Lawrenceville. We’ve had cook-outs, given clothes to those in need, & money to other organizations in Lawrenceville. One of the most memorable parts of our non-profit has been seeing the community give back- you helped the Our Lady of the Angels Food Bank, earthquake relief in Haiti, East End Ecclesia Community Garden, & oil spill relief for the Gulf Coast with our donation drives. None of this could have happened without your support, & for that we thank you.
Since we’ve been in Lawrenceville, it’s amazing how much our neighborhood has changed. New businesses are popping up all the time while more people move to the neighborhood. However, just as Lawrenceville has changed, so to have the lives of those involved with Common Thread. Since we’ve opened, our volunteer staff has changed with marriages, families & new jobs. As such, we have come to the hard decision that we can no longer manage the store given the limitations of our volunteers. In this light, we regret to say that Common Thread will be closing its doors December 31, 2011. While it will be a sad day, we are grateful that we were able to run this non-profit in such a wonderful neighborhood.
Now, don’t worry- we aren’t leaving without having some sweet sales.
THIS WEEK WE WILL BE HAVING A DOLLAR SALE THROUGH FRIDAY & A BAG SALE THIS SATURDAY!
$5 to fill a bag! Please come & tell your friends!
Love-
Common Thread
