From Monday July 12th through Saturday July 17th all of our proceeds will go to support the Gulf Restoration Network (GRN) who is working to protect the environment and residents of the gulf coast as they recover from BP’s devastating oil spill.  Join us as we take this small step in helping our brothers and sisters as they rebuild from yet another disaster. As Pittsburgh finally thaws from 30″ snow and below average temperatures, I think we are more than ready for shorts, summer dresses and flip-flop weather (at least I am). Unfortunately, while I was sorting through dresses today I could not stop myself from putting out some wonderful, colorful summer dresses. I’m sorry winter purists, but I’m crossing my fingers that June comes two months early in 2010.

On a slow evening at the store, a local contractor stopped in to donate 5 mannequins & a mini-fridge. Random? Yes. But why we love Lawrenceville. He lives near the store and came by to see if we could use this family of five, who were on their way to the dump before they took up residence at 5400 Butler. Now that money can be used for other things. Come on by to welcome the latest members of the Common Thread family.
